Open Door held its Annual General Meeting on 21 March 2026.
The Trustees shared the positive stories of 2025 which saw the continued success of the chat cafes and its solid financial base, thanks to continued support from grant funders including Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation.
Mike Read, Treasurer, confirmed that, as a charity wholly funded through grants, the charity was potentially exposed to risk and that 2026 would require some careful financial management.
Outgoing Chair Marian Barton thanked two Trustees who were stepping down, Samantha O’Sullivan and Michael Tansey. Special thanks were given to Michael who was one of the founders of Open Door and who continues to support its work as a volunteer at the Thursday Cafe.
Marion welcomed two new Trustees, Jill Meakins and Pauline Whalley, which brings the Board back to a healthy number.
